What a beautiful castle and picture. It has such drama to it. It looks like how I envision Hogwarts.

Is this castle near where you live?

Danna
No, this a long way north of me. It is on the west coast of Scotland close to the isle of Skye. http://www.eileandonancastle.com/home.htm
We are going to Scotland for a week at the end of May, this time to the Trossachs. Hogwarts was filmed at Alnwick castle in Northumberland, about 1.5 hours drive from us. The railway station (Hogwarts) was filmed at Goathland, about 30 minutes from us on the North Yorkshire steam railway.

It's beautiful! I would love to see the Isle of Skye.

I've been to the Trossachs though! My Great Aunt Jean who lived in Lanark (where my ancestors are from.....I'm a McDade) took me to the shores of Loch Lomond on my first visit to see her when I was 18. We of course sang on the bonny banks...looking over at Ben Lomond.
Beautiful area and I would love to go back one day.

What a wonderful place for a week holiday.

I'm coming over "the pond" to London on the 13th of May for a week......unfortunately, I won't be heading north due to lack of time.... I can't wait to see London and area again, and to meet Pip in person. I feel like it will one of perhaps a few trips to the UK.....Greenbelt is on my wish list.

I will look up Alnwick castle to see it too.
