Fading light brings a burst of colour to the sky, I would like to think this was an emerging rainbow however I am sure you meterologists will find some latin name for it. For those with imagination, these are flaming wings of a messenger... I will leave the rest to you.

I think there is a special word for those clouds, but I have no idea what it is!
Flaming wings of a messenger will do nicely!
So Gilly, the clouds seem to be Cirrus clouds and the colour is the sunset reflecting off ice particles (Maybe)....
I still prefer the winged messenger.
